Their appointments are an amazing opportunity for The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre to continue to provide the very best in education and support for doctors of the future, ensuring that trainee doctors receive the guidance and mentorship needed to thrive in their early medical careers.

Dr Williams trained at the University of Liverpool and stayed in the Mersey region for her resident doctor and specialty training. She joined The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in 2022.

Dr Seddon received his training at Cardiff Medical School, graduating in 2012 before his specialist haematology training in Manchester. He joined The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in 2023.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre has a strong reputation for providing effective, supportive and varied placements for doctors in training. Through Dr Williams’ and Dr Seddon’s new appointments, which they take up alongside their continued clinical duties, they will provide support for trainee doctors during their placements at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

Dr Williams’ role is in the training of medical students who come to our centres for an attachment to learn specifically about how we treat cancer. It includes representing the Trust at the University of Liverpool, supporting educational supervisors and working alongside Clinical Sub Dean, Dr Tory Shallcross.

Dr Seddon’s role is primarily about the support and training of resident doctors in GP and Internal Medicine who are working at here at Clatterbridge as part of their rotational training programmes. He will be responsible for providing a supportive and challenging environment for these doctors to ensure high-quality training.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre already has a very good reputation for providing excellent training for medical students and resident doctors. Drs Seddon and Williams will both be working closely with the other members of our Education Faculty, providing a joint approach to solid tumour and haemato-oncology medical education.

They will continue to build on the amazing work done by their predecessors, Dr Rick Walshaw and Dr Noor Tariq.
