The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust (CCC) is one of the largest specialist cancer centres in the UK, providing non-surgical oncology care for people with solid tumours and blood cancers.

  • We provide care across three main sites and a broad network of chemotherapy and outpatient treatment facilities across Cheshire and Merseyside, supported by treatment at home and other outreach models that bring care closer to where people live.
  • We employ over 1,900 specialist staff and have an annual turnover of more than £340 million, including our subsidiaries and hosted services.
  • We serve around 2.4 million people across Cheshire and Merseyside and support a total population of 2.7 million when services we provide to the Isle of Man and North Wales are included. 
  • We serve a diverse population, including communities facing significant deprivation and poorer health outcomes. This reinforces the need for a strategy that prioritises equitable access, earlier diagnosis and improved outcomes.

Developing our strategy

Our strategy has been shaped by extensive engagement with our staff, patients and relatives, partner organisations, commissioners and the voluntary and community sector. 

It also reflects national, regional and local health plans. We are enormously grateful to everyone who contributed to the development of this strategy
